an experimental long exposure at Katzensee ZH, Switzerland.

i think it's best to let you come up with your own interpretation of this photograph...

a collaboration between *boli and * fritsch:

Very cool!
I understand the basics of how you do this, but this one seems to bright for nothing to reflect off the person drawing the man. how do you not get him in there?

thanks!

the light i used is my bicycle's headlight, which only lights a small "sector" in front of it. as i was pointing it towards the camera, it never shone on me. plus the drawing took maybe 15 seconds only. the rest of the time i spent lighting the footbridge from beside the camera, and running to and from the spot i did the drawing. :)

no i wasn't. ;) but, when experimenting i accidentally put my arm into the water, as i thought its surface would be a lot lower... :P

It happened to me once! I was on the New Year's eve at midnight in the yachting harbour (marina) and wanted to see how cold is the water... And I went on some rocks on the side of the pier and aproached the waterline. The thing was that the air and water were so still, you couldn't see a single reflection in the water surface. And the water being so clear I didn't saw the surface and tried to step on another rock, but it was beneath the water surface. Pretty dumb, but hey! The sea was clearer than I ever saw! And night too... Damn! You could see the bottom (2-3 m deep) when the fireworks lit the sky!

zee end - nice one

i accidentally stepped into the water that night as well. there were very broad stairs leading into the water, and i walked along the shore on one of the steps. but they weren't perfectly horizontal, but slowly lowered towards the water the direction i was going. step (crunch)... step (crunch)... step (splash!)... i *nearly* slipped and fell over. :D

hey, since when do avatars in comments work again? let's try that using one of my favorite avatars on dA: b33lz3bub
